Anna Pignataro teaches art to children and exhibits regularly in galleries in Australia and overseas. Her first book, I'm in the Sky and I Can't Come Back, was joint winner of the Crichton Award (1998); The Staircase Cat was shortlisted for CBCA Picture Book of the Year (1999); Unknown was a CBCA Notable Book (2001) and published in the US. Anna lives in Rosebud, Victoria.

Penny Matthews has worked for many years in children’s book publishing, and is now a freelance editor and writer. Her first picture book, "Moving On", was published in 1993, and was followed by four more picture books, three chapter books and two junior novels. In 2003 "A Year on Our Farm", illustrated by Andrew McLean, was the Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year (Early Childhood) and an Honour Book in the Picture Book of the Year awards. Penny is married, has two grown-up children, and lives in Adelaide.
