Neil Curtis is an acclaimed artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally. He was the recipient of the Silver Award for Illustration by the Australian Writers and Art Directors and has published a number of children’s books, including The Roo Book and Bear Dinkum. Neil currently works as a freelance illustrator and artist and lives in Elwood, Victoria.

Vashti Farrer has lived with all sorts of pets—cats, dogs, parrots, budgerigars, axolotyls, a tortoise, fish, rabbits, guines pigs and even a rat! Vashti has written stories for adults and children, as well as plays, humour, fantasy, historical fiction, occasional verse and articles. She is the author of Ned’s Kang-u-roo (Takeaways), published by Lothian in 1997. She lives in Paddington, NSW.
