The Ruffs – Slingshot Daddy, Tough-Spittin' Granny, Baby-Face Tom, Breathless Bertha, Ned Smelly and Jimmy Good-For-Nothin' – are a family of Australian bushrangers in gold-rush times. Courageous, confident and almost completely incompetent, they are always one step behind the Sheriff, a corrupt lawman with a great love of gold. All the Ruffs are wanted by the law, and all have their faces on Wanted posters. All of them, that is, except for Jimmy Good-For-Nothin'. Jimmy can't slingshot kangaroo pellets like Slingshot Daddy, or spit in anyone's eye like Tough-Spittin' Granny. He's not dangerously cute like Baby-Face Tom, and he can't fell troopers with one belch like Ned Smelly. Nobody even knows that he's a member of the famous Ruff gang! It's Jimmy's greatest wish to have a Wanted poster of his own. And when the Sheriff steals a huge gold nugget from Mad Dog Varmit, and Ned Smelly steals it back, and the troopers finally find the Ruff's secret hideout, Jimmy finally has a chance to prove himself.
